Ni-Cd block battery are suitable for numerous
industrial stationary applications : Power back-up Starting Bulk energy storage
The Saft block battery range use pocket plate technology.
Benefits
Your benefit is peace of mind and a low overall
cost thanks to the following block batteries features : Trouble-free long
service life Low overall cost Reliability, no risk
of sudden death or thermal runaway Low maintenance Large operating temperature
range
The block battery range consists of : SBL blocks, from
7.5 Ah to 1540 Ah for standby energy over
... relatively long discharge
periods. SBM blocks, from
11 Ah to 1390 Ah for autonomies between 30
... minutes and 3 hours or
mixed loads with high peak demands. SBH blocks, from
8.3 Ah to 920 Ah for power requirements over
... short periods and for engine
starting.
Configuration
The Saft block battery range is
composed of modular pocket plate cells in translucent polypropylene
containers welded together into blocks by heat sealing.
They have a large electrolyte reserve.
Pocket
plate technology
The positive and negative electrodes
consist of rectangular perforated steel pockets that are
interlaced and pressed into a base to form a very strong
plate.
Ni-Cd
SPL batteries
The Saft low maintenance ranges build upon all the advantages
of proven Ni-Cd flooded electrolyte technology in a comprehensive
range of pocket plate products. These batteries recombine
gases within cells to prevent water loss under normal operating
conditions. In this way Saft's Ni-Cd technology works in
tandem with your application for up to twenty years without
repeated checks for topping-up while maintaining the twenty
plus years life of the product.
SPL cells are designed for standby energy over relatively
long discharge periods.
Saft SPL batteries are a reliable energy source for outdoor
conditions; they need minimal maintenance and have good
cycling capability. It's a range suited to all standard
railroad voltages and for all trackside and highway power
requirements, from providing back-up D.C. power to a single
signal mast, or peak power provision for groups of switch
motors, to large uninterruptible power supplies.
The range is available in a capacity range from 80 Ah to
420 Ah.
